Bootleggers Bar

The newest addition to the Twin Cities bar scene is “Bootleggers” Bar, which opened over Labor Day weekend in downtown Minneapolis.  Already attracting rave reviews, “Bootleggers” Bar is a welcome antidote to the self-conscious “cool” of style bars, which seem to close almost as soon as they open.  Instead, “Bootleggers” offers a new twist on a timeless standard, combining original exposed brick décor and a 1920’s-style speakeasy theme with the best in contemporary music, plasma TVs, pool tables, and darts, and most important of all, beer!  If beer is your thing, then you owe it to yourself to check “Bootleggers” out.

Spread over two floors, “Bootleggers” Bar doesn’t do anything in small measures – whether it’s the entertainment, the music, or the $3 pitchers of Miller Lite all night for Monday Night Football.  The first floor is where you’ll find the DJs, dance floor, and stage, and the outdoor patio is where you can enjoy the cool Minneapolis evenings.  The second floor has a mellower vibe:  two game rooms, a lounge, and video games are the attractions up here, with an open area looking down onto the main floor so you won’t miss a thing.

Minneapolis residents are coming to “Bootleggers” for all sorts of reasons; more than a thousand people can come through the doors on a Friday night.  But they all have one thing in common; they’re here to have fun.  If you’re looking for the poser crowd at “Bootleggers” Bar, you’re definitely in the wrong place.  “Bootleggers” Bar is an exciting new arrival on the downtown Minneapolis scene, and it’s here to stay.
