Minneapolis Food And Wine Show Food And Wine Show Hotel Rates Minneapolis will host their 12th annual food and wine show, which opens from 4 p.m., through 9 p.m., on Friday, February 24, continues on Saturday, February 25, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and lasts through Sunday, February 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Food And Wine show will be held in Hall E of the Minneapolis Convention Center, which is located at 1301 Second Avenue South. There will be ample parking at the Minneapolis Convention Center, as well as at nearby parking lots.
All Food And Wine Show attendees must be at least 21 years of age, and no children will be admitted to the exhibition hall, in compliance with Minnesota state liquor licensing laws. In addition, there is a requirement in the law for a 30-minute break between each 4-hour session of wine tasting. Accordingly, wine-pouring hours on Friday will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The hours on Saturday are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 3:30 to 7 p.m. On Sunday, the last day of the food and wine show, the hours for wine pouring will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The food and wine show is sponsored by the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, various business and restaurant owners, and members of the travel and tourism industry. Tickets for this extravaganza go on sale, November 23, 2005.
The Minneapolis food and wine show is filled with local and international flavor. It promises to be the biggest wine show yet for Minneapolis, with a huge 100,000 sq ft hall reserved for this event. There will be over 300 exhibitions, including the finest of cheese from around the world, the best champagnes, rare and popular domestic and imported wines, from the most expensive to the least costly. Other beverages will be available as well, including beer, coffee, tea, root beer, soda, and health drinks.
Besides wine tasting, this is a great way to spend a few hours, admiring the artful displays by renowned restaurants in Minneapolis, and experiencing the wonderful aroma of fresh bread and pastries. You will find everything from seafood and marketplace items to chocolate and other confections. Many exhibitions and presentations will offer unusual gift ideas and suggestions for food and wine for the holiday season.
In addition to the wonderful food and wine show displays in the exhibition hall, there will be many other special events held throughout the weekend. Some of these are planned for off-site locations; however, information on these events will be available during the show. Private wine-making seminars, conducted by celebrated experts from well-know wineries in the Minneapolis area, can be arranged.
You may want to spend some time observing the on-going cooking demonstrations. These demonstrations are free with your general admission ticket to the food and wine show. They will take place in the two large, adjoining kitchens located on the Lunds and Byerly’s Grand Cooking Stage. The stage can be found at the rear of the exhibition hall. You will be fascinated with the culinary skills exhibited by many of the top chefs from Minneapolis and around the world, as they reveal their cooking secrets. This is a great opportunity to experience and learn the art of preparing and cooking gourmet cuisine.
