Graves Hotel Uptown The highly anticipated Graves Uptown Hotel in Minneapolis is due to be completed around December 2008, and promises to be a spectacular addition to other accommodation facilities in the city of Minneapolis. The new Graves Uptown Hotel will see Graves, already owners of the city’s famous Graves 601 Hotel Downtown, extend its name into Uptown Minneapolis, with their new 140-room, seven-story hotel an integral part of Mozaic — a residential and retail complex on the site of the Lagoon Theater.
Top Mozaic developer Stuart Ackerberg has said that whilst various other hotel firms were keen to be part of the Mozaic complex and had approached him, he and his colleagues chose Graves’ plans for Graves Uptown Hotel mainly because of their “edgy, design-orientated approach to hotel luxury.” He also said that he and his fellow developers felt that Graves, with such experience and great success with their Downtown complex, would be best placed to understand the local Minneapolis market.
Graves Company CEO, Ben Graves, has said that the company is very excited about the Graves Uptown Hotel, and plans to extend their reach into other cities like Chicago and New York soon after completing the Graves Uptown Hotel. He confirmed that the Uptown Hotel "will have the amenities of a five-star hotel." Rooms at the Uptown Hotel will be furnished with marble flooring, and their bathrooms will feature luxurious large soaking bathtubs. In addition, roughly half the rooms will offer guests outdoor terraces.

Graves Hotel Downtown Luxury also extends throughout the complex. The central area at Graves Uptown Hotel will boast a brand new Lagoon Theater, a lavish 5,800 square foot ballroom, opening onto an outdoor garden area complete with swimming pool, lounge, and enormous spa, as well as a top-class restaurant. Guests will also only be a short distance away from enjoying all the facilities at the Mozaic Complex.
Graves Uptown Hotel seems perfectly placed to capitalize on the recent boom in demand for high-end accommodations in Minneapolis. Jeffrey Wirth, another hotel developer in the city, sees the rapid growth in demand for “Class A” office space as a clear indicator of the strength of the business travel market in Minneapolis — a great sign for locations such as Graves Uptown Hotel. He said: "The growing ‘Class A’ market brings in more and more business travellers to Minneapolis. These people are coming here to do business with downtown clients and want a downtown address while they’re here."
