Hooters Restaurant held a grand opening on July 5, 2006 to honor a new Hooters in Minneapolis right above Bellanotte Italian Restaurant on Block e. The Minneapolis City Council had tried to block such an attempt to locate to the block e area by Hooters Restaurant in the past. With restaurants in such fine places as the Mall Of America it doesn't make sense to block the addition of Hooters to the Block e complex as it would fit nicely with the Crown Movie Theater, Target Center and Gameworks entertainment complex. To those who've not been to Hooters, the waitresses wear tight shirts and short shorts however this is no different than the night club crowd already visiting local Block e bars in the area. Hooters is a great restaurant and would be a fine addition to the Block e and Hennepin Theater District areas of Minneapolis.
